ABOUT EDWARD'S IMAGINATION
My name is Sherrie C. Ross and Edward’s Imagination is my debut work! Edward’s Imagination came to be because of my only son. He struggled to pay attention and engage in English class. At ten years old, he thought spelling tests and vocabulary words were pointless. Instead, he wanted to play games!
After multiple visits to the school and conversations with his teacher, I was forced to take action. I knew I needed to bring my son’s boring spelling words to life and I had to get him to participate. I asked myself: how do I get him to learn without knowing he was learning? I decided to make a story using those words. Each week he brought me new words. I incorporated them into my story. He was excited as the story began to take shape and unfold. He named two of the characters: J.P. and Jack. He was even more ecstatic when I told him that J.P. would look a little like him. My daughters wanted in on the fun and shared their boring words too! Voila, my first children’s book was born.
